Port Albert Easter Family Fun Day

As part of the Tarra Festival, each year, the Port Albert Progress Assocation hosts the Easter Family Fun Day and the Remembrance Lantern Festival, held in Rutters Park on Port Albert's Foreshore.

With live music, free kids activities, food trucks, and the beautful floating lanterns being launched on the water at dusk, its a great experience for the entire family.

Event Details

Event Location: Rutters Park, Bay Street Port Albert.

Event Time: Easter Sunday (April 5th) from 5.00pm to 9.00pm

Event Cost: Gold coin donation collected at the gate.

Event Set-up: This is an open air event which is held at Rutters Park. We encourage you to bring down your picnic rug and chairs and enjoy dusk on the forshore (bring your bug spray). This is a family friendly event so pets must be on a leash.

Payment Options: We recommend the use of cash as some EFTPOS machine struggle with low Internet coverage.

What's On: Live Music, Food Trucks, Animal Petting Zoo, Rock Climbing Wall, Facepainting, Art Show & Curios.

Easter Bunny arrives from 6.00pm so get your free Easter Eggs and a photo.

Floating Remembrance Lanterns: Light a lantern for those who have passed at our Lantern Launch from 8pm. Environmentally friendly lanterns are released across the water at Port Albert's foreshore. (Activities are weather dependant).

Floating Remembrance Lanterns

Port Albert's Floating Remembrance Lanterns

Join the Port Albert Progress Association (PAPA) for a heartfelt evening of remembrance at the Easter Floating Remembrance Lanterns event - symbolising the guiding of souls!

From 8pm, the Port Albert foreshore will be illuminated with the gentle glow of candlelit lanterns, each carrying messages of love and remembrance for those who have passed or those we cannot be with this Easter.

Did you know - the lighting of a candle at easter is a tradition symbolising the triumph of light over darkness and spreading the joy of Easter.

For a $2 donation, our friendly PAPA team will supply and assist you to launch your environmentally friendly lantern. We also have pens so that you can write a heartflet message on your lantern

Come together with the community to honor cherished memories in this beautiful tribute.

Lanterns will be launched from 8pm (on Dusk).
